CHEMICAL PEEL FOR ACNE - GOOD?

I have seen a client who has approached me for blemish solution recently. He explained to me that he has been with a professional for about a year and his acne has not become better but instead otherwise. He has been prescribed with numerous skincare products, oral and topical prescriptions (oral anti-biotic, topical anti-biotic, oral accutane & topical Vitamin A - Tretinoin), laser treatment and  chemical peel. Wow...

What actually caught my attention is whether chemical peel really benefits acne patient/client? Well nobody dares to mention a complete yes or no but I would like to offer my opinions in order for you to make an educated decision.

When you are still having acne, undergoing chemical peel would mean that you will not be able to continue using anti-blemish products after that. This is because your skin is still 'raw and red'. Your skin simply could not be able to withstand another round of 'attack'. Undergoing chemical peel also does not mean that your acne will disappear almost immediately after that.

What makes things even worse is that, if you have certain skin condition prerequisite, you are likely have another round of breakout. Under this new situation, you are quite unlikely to use anti-blemish products.

Chemical peel is still very beneficial for lightening scaring especially left behind by acne. It does not mean remove scars totally but lighten their appearance.

However, I would feel that chemical peel would still be beneficial to certain extent when your acne/blemish are drying up and near to flattening. Under this situation, I would feel that the pros outweigh the cons.

Remember, when you are recommended with chemical peel solution, think about it first!
